Grace – Exercise Prescription
25/1/24
Grace was seen following owner referral. Grace has been lying down more
frequently, and has been reluctant to go forward. She has previously had
her hocks medicated and has stomach ulcers in her history.
In walk, Grace laterally circumducts her right forelimb slightly
(Dishing). She has even foot wear and is transitioning to bare-foot.
In stance her hindlimbs show an extended fetlock position and a wide
stance with the hindlimbs. This is more evident in trot where we see a
lack of propulsion. Grace is also straight through her hocks and looks
visibly tense through her pelvis and extensor muscles of the back.
Limited pelvic flexion and extension, visible spasming and muscle
contractions.
Reactive in serratus thoracis (girth area) and base of the neck at
brachiocephalic insertion.
