William was seen for physiotherapy as a follow up. He is in good body condition and has good
posture and balance.
Gait assessment – Still a mild pelvic drop on the right hand side. Previous lateral circumduction of
the left hindlimb has markedly reduced. Left forelimb showing some stiffness as cold, stood-in and
has side bone. William travelled mainly on two tracks.
Circles showed good hindlimb proprioception, placement, and foot height. Timing was good. Neck
and back looked flexible during turning, left rein more fluid than right rein, mildly.
Palpation –Spinal range of motion reduced in dorsi-flexion. Increased tension in thoracolumbar
fascia and hip flexors, more so right hand side. Mid thoracic region hypotrophic and hypotonic. Soft
neck, shoulders and girth area. Jaw mildly increased in bulk right hand side – due teeth in march.
Saddle – Has rear rider, this is tipping saddle onto shoulders where it is becoming restrictive. Balance
of saddle is good front/back and to each side, width is good, clearance is good. Bearing surface loses
contact middle of the saddle especially left hand side.
