Danny– Exercise Prescription
13/09/23
Danny was seen to imprve flexibility and movement as he was becoming
stiff and stilted in his trot.
Gait assessment – Danny had a slightly lateral landing pattern on his
right forelimb in walk (landing on the outer wall of the foot) and was
“footy” over stony terrain. This improved once in the arean. His hind
quarters would track narrow and there was a reduced amount of stability
when hindlimbs were picked up to be stretched. In trot the left hindlimb
became stilted and short, the right hind would then match the reduced
flight arc and the trot would become short. This improved after physio
and exercises.
Palpation – Poll tension and reactive trigger points, reduced neck
muscling and flexibility. Left sided lumbar trigger points and spasming.
Gracilis was increased in tone on both hindlimbs and the left side
showed a hollowing where the TFL muscle was. Serratus ventralis showing
tension drawing shoulders towards to the body.
