Kess Beaumont - Physiotherapy
29/08/23
Kess was referred for limited mobility in her hind-limbs specifically hips and stifles. She was bright
alert and responsive on assessment and her gait showed a reduction of protraction in the right
hindlimbs and some difficulties rising. When walking Kess moved with her hindlimbs flexed and
“creeping” oppose to a full rise into stance.
On palpation her latissimus dorsi was reactive and restricted bilaterally with additional limited
protraction of the right forelimb due to this. Lumbar epaxial spasming and trigger points with
hypertonicity. %The right hindlimb gracilis was hypertonic and restricted abduction. In addition the
semitendinosus also was limiting protraction. Mild crepitus was seen on extension. Left hindlimb had
mild crepitus in flexion and Sartorius and quadriceps hypertonicity. Difficulties on the right turn due
to limb restrictions.
