Murphy Mather - Physiotherapy
28/08/23
Murphy was referred due to arthritis and losing mobility. He is a 13 year old Springer spaniel who
has a history of working and now is retired. Murphy cranially loads and does have increased
weight bearing on both forelimbs. His sit posture usually shows the left hindlimb as abducted and
there can be difficulty rising. There are several small growths over Murphys back and limbs which
required care when palpating and at present will monitor for changes. Right forelimb has reduced
protraction, mild reluctance when manipulating elbow and shoulder into flexion. Left forelimb had
some mild reluctance to flex the elbow. Left hindlimb was showing some coxofemoral instability in
stance, the stifle showed crepitus and audible pop on movement. Range of motion of this stifle is
reduced near end range. Right tarsal joint has limited degrees of flexion and extension with some
thickening. Owner currently giving Pardale, Yumove, Librella, Laser.
