Physiotherapist report – Willow
Jan 2023
Subjective: Willow was seen 8/2/23 for general health check-up and is
progressing well. New bridle and bit with bitting advice and teeth being
seen too in the near future. Still strong under saddle at times and not
been jumping as much now.
Gait: Started out a little stiff in the pelvis but progressed to a more
even stride with a lap or 2. Moving straighter than previously seen with
a more rhythmical and forward walk. Bilateral foot placement was lateral
in the front feet with the right fore being more noticeable. Right tuber
coxae drop (slight). Similar in trot.
Objective: Tension and restriction in the head and jaw. Temporalis
muscles were even and showed no difficulties eating. Facial crest
non-painful and some tension and resistance in masseter bilaterally.
Initially unable to move mandible of the maxilla either direction.
Released fascial and TMJ, able to move with slight restrictions felt
when moving mandible to the right. Poll area and ears good, relaxed when
this was applied. Neck was good, pre-scapula left side was higher tone
and tense, released with massage. Some mild restriction in the ribs and
lumbar regions, these had improved from previous visits. Some deeper
areas of tension where k-tape was applied.
Range of Motion: Back range of motion was good with nice pelvic
rounding.
