Re: Rapper – Physiotherapy Notes
13/11/25
Subjective
Rapper was a riding school horse who is now in a lovely home. He enjoys
hacking and allround use. Recently history of kicking out when mounted.
Otherwise no issues reported.
Static & Dynamic Observations:
•
•
•
•
•
Static conformation is good, straight back and forelimbs, a little
campwed under with the back legs.
Dynamically Rapper moves with a wide stance with the hindlimbs and
lacks some flexion in his stifle and hock joints.
Can be reluctant to go forward and needs encouragement.
Loses momentum on the turn
Good neck mobility when turning
Palpation Findings:
•
•
•
•
Restricted right shoulder in protraction
Lumbar tension and spasming (mild)
Reluctance to lift back
Right hindlimb is reluctant to pick up and hold and when going over
poles is slower
• Recommendations:
•
•
Saddle was found to be narrow on the spine and be tipping back slightly,
this may be contributing to the back rigidity and tension.
It could also be coming from the wide stance and movement of Rapper
hindlimbs
