Goose- Physiotherapy Notes – 27/8/25
Goose was seen for his initial consult following owner reporting some clicking
from his joints and wanted an assessment. On assessment Goose is of a good
healthy weight and is fit and healthy with no other concerns. Previous
reactivity and regular training.
Gait: Goose has a good rhythmical walk with good foot placement. All
neurological tests are normal (knuckling and cranial nerves). He is mildly
limited in protraction bilaterally with the forelimbs and the hindlimbs mildly
circumduct laterally. The left hindlimb scuffs very rarely. Toe nail wear is good.
Posture: Cranially loading and more onto the right hindlimb too. Good sit
posture, some difficulty rising without toe tapping or adjusting. Straight back.
Palpation: Mildly restricted over shoulders where underlying soft tissue has
altered hair appearance. Reduction in hindlimb muscle mass bilaterally, right
Sartorius and quadriceps are triggering and some spasming with limited limb
retraction.
Aim: Improve overall balance, muscle strength and stretch out cranial thigh
