Busby- Physiotherapy Notes – 30/7/25
Busby was seen for his initial appointment. He is active and bright in
demeanour. His weight is good and diet controls are in place to adjust for
lowered exercise tolerance. Area he is allowed access too is restricted and is
majority non-slip. No access to stairs or jumping up if possible to limit spinal
extension and risk of falling/losing back foot contact.
Gait: Busby has a good rhythmical gait with good foot placement – his ground
clearance is limited in the hindlimbs and especially the left hindlimb which
often is placed medially.. Slight cranial loading patterns displayed.
Posture: Cranially loading and more onto the right hindlimb too. Occassional
knuckling is seen with the hindlimbs – concurrent with his diagnosis. Able to
stand unassisted and take a few steps forwards. Sit posture is good.
Palpation: Spinal epaxials tender lumbar region showing trigger points,
resolved with manual therapy and Laser. Caudal boarder latissimus dorsi
reactive, but resolved.
Aim: Improve overall balance, muscle strength and protect the opposing
limbs.
