Re: Storm – Physiotherapy Notes - 30/12/25
Subjective
Storm was seen for an initial assessment. She enjoys pole-work clinics and flatwork lessons
regularly and in kept in regular work. Shod on all 4 feet, well balanced- up to date.
Static & Dynamic Observations:
•
•
•
•
•
Static conformation is good, straight forelimbs and hindlimbs.
Stands square majority of the time, off-loads the left hindlimb.
Walks with asymmetric pelvic movement
Close with the hindlimbs and reduced hindlimb protraction
Toe drag occasionally in trot with the hindlimbs – drops the back in trot and lacks
some impulsion from the hindlimbs
Palpation Findings:
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Restricted right hindlimb when stepping/stretching forward – more so the left
hindlimb as this is the support limb and dislikes being lifted.
Right poll tension, jaw restricted when moving right to left
Lumbar tension and spasming (mild) and into ribs.
Reluctance to lift back – thoracic is good but restricted thoracic
Right neck bend is restricted C2-5 – naturally holds head in elevation and restricts
mobility.
Tension in hamstrings
Limited right forelimb extension
