Re: Ziggy– Physiotherapy Notes - 9/12/25
Subjective
Ziggy was seen 9/12/25 for a check up appointment. He is in full work and is ridden 5x a
week with a variety of jumping and hacking.
Static & Dynamic Observations:
•
•
•
Static conformation is good, straight forelimbs and hindlimbs, wide hindlimbs with
good foot balance.
When walking the left hindlimb laterally circumducts around to the side more so
than the right.
Reduced hindlimb flexion bilaterally in walk and trot
Palpation Findings:
•
•
•
•
•
Right serratus muscle around shoulder restricted around girth area
Lumbar pain with spasming and trigger points
Hindlimb retraction restricted with some loss of balance
Very good back mobility when doing sternal rounding and pelvic tilts
Base of the neck shortened and tight on the right side with fascial restrictions
Overall:
Some stiffness in the lower back caused by restricted hindlimbs, more needs to be done to
get the hindlimbs across and under the body and the flex them to increase impulsion
