Reg- Physiotherapy Notes – 7/10/25
Reg was seen for his initial appointment. He enjoys regular walks with longer
weekend walks, Mondays are a rest day to compensate for this. Weight is
25kg and coat is good. Lick marks bilaterally on dorsal carpal and
interdigitally, also seen on lateral elbows. Can pull when walked. Recent
issue jumping into car/van.
Gait: Reg has a good rhythmical gait with good foot placement and ground
clearance in all four limbs. The hindlimbs are placed medially and the left foot
is more weighted than the right.
Posture: Cranially loading (placing more weight on the forelimbs) and more
onto the left forelimb and left hindlimb. No neurological deficits. Slight trunk
deviation to the left. In sit left hindlimb held laterally on occasion.
Palpation: Head and neck of good tone, right triceps hypotrophic compare to
the right and hypotonic. Digits palpate well, carpal joints have full range of
movement, right elbow shoes crepitus on full flexion repeatedly. Trigger points
and spasming along the back in the left lumbar region and right caudal rib area.
Hindlimbs reluctant to extend fully.
Other: Turning can be rushed and stilted, full stand is needed to show
hindlimb strength, back flexibility in thoracic region is limited.
