Woody- Physiotherapy Notes – 8/9/25
Woody was seen for his first session. He is of a good weight and is exercises
regularly to 1 hour intervals. He has a dog walker who noticed a reluctance to
jump into the van (intermittent) and Owner noticed stiffer in the morning.
Gait: Woody has a straight and rhythmical gait in walk. There is good ground
clearance of the paws and no scuffing or dragging is present. Limited hindlimb
protraction bilaterally and external elbow rotation.
Posture: Cranially loading (placing more weight on the forelimbs). Good sit
posture.
Palpation: Head and neck – no issues. Wide chest and braced forearms.
Bracing through the lumbar region, muscle spasming, no reactivcity on
vertebrae palpation. Hindlimbs symmetrical, crepitus on rising but not on
ROM. Limited hip extension bilaterally
Aim: Improve overall balance, muscle strength and improve impulsion
