Willow – Physiotherapy Report and Exercises
3/3/22
Willow has a lateral landing of the left forelimb at walk and travels on
three tracks with the left hind-limb abducted. Slight under-tracking is
observed of the left hind-limb in walk and trot. At trot there was an
elevated head carriage and overuse of the brachiocephalicus muscle
bilaterally.
Left rectus capitis (poll) hypertonic and hypertrophic (tense) and the
base of the brachiocephalicus muscle was adhesive and hypertonic. Willow
has good back movement but did show pain, spasming and trigger points
bilaterally with the left thoracolumbar junction being more reactive.
Pelvic tilt was resisted.
Forelimb retraction was resisted largely due to the brachiocephalic pain
and tone. Cervical flexion was resisted from C3-C5, C1-2 were good.
The saddle was seen to be tilted back, fall over to the right hand side
and be narrow on Willows spine.
