Santos – Exercise Prescription and
Notes

Subjective: Santos was booked in following veterinary diagnosis of ulcers grade 3. Saddle
has been checked. BCS 4/9. Good foot balance, shod all round. Currently in full work mainly
hacking. Pelvis very tucked and in flexion, back more level and improved muscle tone from
last visit..
Gait: Mild but consistent right hindlimb lameness 1/10 – visible in walk, Reduced flexion
bilaterally of the hindlimbs and reduced protraction and retraction. More observable on the
right hindlimb.
On the lunge head and neck straighter than previous, elevated head carriage. Canter
transition breaks in places but no, ears back today. Made improvements but still
unbalanced.
Main palpation findings: Improved tone in shoulders and over the back, large improvement
on last session. Hindlimb retraction limited bilaterally. Neck lateral flexion resented left
today C3-4, but restricted bilaterally.
