Wilson- Physiotherapy Notes – 16/6/25
Wilson was seen for his follow-up today. He remains active and bright and of
a good weight – May need to monitor or reduce food intake as weight has
increased but muscle also weighs more than adipose tissue – monitor for
changes. Walking well up to 20 minutes and reduced gabapentin medication.
Gait: Wilson has a good rhythmical gait with good foot placement and ground
clearance in all four limbs. Improved protraction in all limbs with better stride
length seen today. Right hindlimb is offloaded and more weight through left
side. Slight carpal deviation in both forelimbs.
Posture: Cranially loading mildly and mild kyphosis which looks to have
markedly reduced from last session. Lovely neutral spine posture.
Palpation: Mild stifle and tarsal crepitus bilaterally. Spinal epaxials tender right
thoraco- lumbar region showing mild trigger points. Caudal boarder latissimus
dorsi reactive, due to cranial loading. Head and neck very good, better spinal
range of motion. Good stability of thorax, trendelenburg sign in right hindlimb.
Knuckline 1 second bilaterally.
Aim: Improve overall balance, muscle strength and protect the opposing
limbs.
