Horses To Hounds Physiotherapy
Sibyl Connell – 16/6/25
Subjective: Sibyl was seen for her initial consult on 11/3/25. Owner was concerned Sibyl was slowing
down on walks and limping when going downhill. Initially seen for right forelimb muscle mass
reduction and off-loading. We have been working on improving this over the last 2-3 months and the
forelimbs are less of a concern now, no limping observed 16/6/25. Sibyl also has a previous disc
injury which is the cause for referral, symptoms of back pain resolving through the session but are
recurring with hindlimb muscle mass not improving as expected.
Objective: The right carpal joint and right elbow have mild crepitus on full flexion. Mid thoracic on
the right hand side and thoracolumbar region on the left (including ribs) showing trigger points and
spasming. Usually settles and is less reactive post-treatment. Spinal range of motion is good, no
neurological deficits present head and neck mobility is good.
Plan: Improve functional weight bearing with the hindlimbs, improve muscle mass in the hindlimbs,
reduce back pain. Maintain forelimb symmetry.
