Scooby– Physiotherapy & Exercise Prescription
15/5/25
Scooby was seen following a lameness episode following a spook that occurred in Winter.
Scooby is showing signs of reluctance, tripping and having difficulty turning. His owner is
worried as these symptoms are out of character. Saddle checked and is well balanced.
Weight is over 6/9 with crest beginning to harden slightly. Monitir for potential laminitis
for the type of weather currently seen. Shod balanced and well.
Gait: On gait assessment Scooby moves straight and has good rhythm on hard ground, if the
ground is undulating or uneven, lame steps are taken especially on the left forelimb. Turning
left shows lameness and turning right to a lesser degree. Close moving with the hindlimbs
with decreased flight arc and stride length globally. Able to back up – trot not observed.
Palpation : Right side of the neck reduced range of motion. Small lesion palpated under left
manbible. Left shoulder restricted cranially and caudally with spasming and reactivity in
pectorals and serratus. LF protraction limited, back is good with very good mobility in flexion
and extension. RF reactive to lesser degree. Hindlimbs reluctant to extend into retraction.
