Kiki Goodwin– Physio & Exercise Prescription
15/5/25
Kiki was seen for maintenance following a lameness episode. She was reported to be
doing well until the episode. Good weight and management changes slightly with warmer
weather.
Gait: On gait assessment Kiki showed a lateral circumduction of the right forelimb which
was more evident in the trot. The left forelimb looked well balanced and straighter than
previously. Head nod seen on left forelimb. Hindlimbs are both placed wide in flight and
look stilted with the pelvis braced. Tail straight.
Palpation : Right side of the neck reduced range of motion – base of neck reactive.
Trapezius muscle much improved. Lumbar region showing marked improvement. Limited
shoulder extension and protraction bilaterally. Attempted thoracic lift and showing limited
mobility here. Pelvic tilts tolerated and mildly limited in flexion. Hindlimb retraction
bilaterally was very difficult and not achieved – snatching hindlimbs and then becoming very
anxious when replacing. Left stifle externally rotated when doing this compared to the right.
All limbs cool and no swellings or issues palpated.
