Physiotherapist report – Luna Austin

Subjective: Luna has improved since last session, no hopping is observed
and turning/locomoting has been normal. Good weight and attitude, more
relaxed today.
Gait: Very good stride length and propulsion. Spinal flexion is good
left to right, even ribcage motion. Straight moving and sitting posture
very good, straight and evenly flexes both stifles. Observed in walk and
trot.
Objective:. Sartorius bilaterally hypertonic, biceps femoris
hypotrophic, some trigger points near the anticlinal vertebrae. Medial
thigh musculature has improved significantly, slight hypertrophy of
gracilis bilaterally. Mild hypertrophy of sartorius. Fascial
restrictions cervical-thoracic region, limited protraction and scapula
glide. Mild.
Range of motion: Forelimb protraction and retraction was good, Hind-limb
range of motion is good. No crepitus or restrictions to range of motion
in any joints. Good full range of motion in all joints
Action:
Massage, passive ROM, and controlled exercises .
- Stretches under forelimbs to flex spine and increase range of motion
- Lateral stretches and side stepping
- Polework to increase balance, stride height and strength
- Terrain work/hills
