Oreo - Initial Physiotherapy
Assessment and Exercises

Oreo was seen for his initial assessment today. He was purchased for a childrens pony as an
allrounder. He may have had a driving past but is suitable for ridden wor, saddle fitter, farrier and
dentist all booked or completed. No issues raised. Vet is aware of sarcoid on right hind medial
thigh. Nice nature and good body weight.
Gait: Straight moving with even pelvic drop to each side, mild lateral circumduction right hindlimb
and even foot landing. Tracks up well and very willing to move forwards.Turning is good both ways in
bend through neck and spine. Right looks a little more stilted on timing but foot flight and placement
are good.
Palpation: No concerns over head or neck, mobility of the neck is very good both ways with minimal
twisting or rotation occurring. Pectorals hypertonic bilaterally, limbs are clean and musculature is
even. No shoulder pain, mild click left forelimb on protraction but not repeated. Back is higher tone
over lumbar region and into gluteals but no reactivity or triggerpoints noted. Hamstring tension
bilaterally, enjoyed meial thigh massage. Stretching is good with hindlimbs, no obvious restrictions

Aim:
Improve RH to LF diagonal pair
Monitor sarcoid
Improve right hind mobility and flexion.
