Skye
17/4/25
Subjective: Skye has come in from the field 3 weeks prior and has a low grade 2-3/10
lameness reported from her owners. The lameness is more evident in trot and has an
associated head nod. Reduced workload but still a well muscled horse.
Gait: Skye is tracking up with her hindlimbs and looks to have been shod recently. She is
slightly toe-out on both forelimbs and shows reduced elbow and shoulder flexion with
excess carpal mobility. She has a mild right hind lameness also with associated pelvic drop
on the right. She moves straight and on two tracks. Tail is held straight.
Palpation – Neck and shoulders palpate normally with good mobility. Toe and foot balance
deviates mildly. Right shoulder and elbow reduced flexion, also on left but more mild.
Bilaterally hindlimb fetlocks have mild crepitus and reduced range of motion. Right side of
the back is braced and tense showing spasming and trigger points. Left forelimb has effusion
around proximal third of the DDFT and check ligament location, painful on palpation and
thickened. Crepitus right carpal joint.
