Peter
17/4/25
Subjective: Peter has a history of tendon sheath damage and annular ligament damage to
the left forelimb. He is showing reluctance to go the field and is stiff when coming out of the
stable. Recently had teeth and feet trimmed. Not in work currently.
Gait: Even pelvic drop with the hindlimbs, the hindlimbs look to be carrying excessive load
and have a shortened flight arc giving a characteristic goose step appearance on gait
examination. Increased metatarsophalangeal joint drop bilaterally in the hindlimbs and
reduced weight bearing on the left forelimb especially on the tight turns.
Palpation – Neck and shoulders palpate normally, slight pop on full shoulder extension and
forelimb protraction left forelimb. Thickening of annular ligament left forelimb. Mild
reduction in fetlock mobility in bilateral forelimbs, reluctance to protract the hindlimbs
forwards and stretch the hamstrings. Mild lumbar spasming right side. Pelvic mobility is
good overall, a little restricted in flexion. Mild tension in left pectoral.

If any changes occur or you wish to control the pain or lameness further, cold
hosing can be really easy and effective to reduce swelling and act as an antiinflammatory.
