Patient Name: Ruby 16/4/25
Ruby was seen following her initial consultation. She is a good weight
and is moving around, eating drinking normally. Her walking has improved and her turning
is very good. Her left hindlimb has displayed some bouts of lameness and metacam has
been used to help following some days of stiffness.
Subjective
During routine walking, no scuffing, dragging – nail wear is normal
In sit, Ruby shows really lovely sit posture, on rising some instability of the left
hindlimb
Still finding turning difficult but improved
Objective: Gait assessment shows Ruby moves straight and has a good rhythm when
walking. Her hindlimbs are restricted in their protraction and mobility, her left hindlimb is
the weaker of the two and the right has improved substantially.Mild lameness seen today
on left hindlimb. Also externally rotated out on left hindlimb.
Physical Examination Findings:
o Left hind-limb shows hesitation to bear weight but on occasion and when
lifting limbs the left does hold more weight than previous
o
Range of Motion (ROM):
o Forelimbs: resented forelimb protraction left forelimb
o Hindlimbs: Left patella markedly moves when the limb is in retraction or
extension.Crepitus and popping on flexion of the left hindlimb.
