Patient Name: Luna W 02/4/25
Luna was seen following an idiopathic lameness in the left hind-limb
(LH). She is nervous and can become tense when palpated. Settled well and able to
perform good assessment.
Subjective
During routine walking, no scuffing or toe dragging
Able to sit, stand and lie well – occasional lateral placement of the hindlimbs.
Bunny Hopping gait observed at faster gaits.
Objective: On examination she was walking with a shorter stride in the left hindlimb and a
circumduction of the right hindlimb.Posture shows rounded lumbar spine and pelvis held in
flexion with reluctance to extend hips.
Physical Examination Findings: Head and neck palpation was symmetrical and no
issues,Very mild lattissimus dorsi reactivity bilaterally. Very mild crepitus on full flexion of
the right elbow – intermittent. Reactivity of the right side lumbar musculature, not elicited
on spinal palpation just muscle. Left tarsus showed crepitus when limb was in full flexion,
other wise normal ROM. Stifle ROM and end feel was good, bilaterally stifle extension was
limited by excess hamstring tone and reactivity, more so right side due to over
compensation. Right hindlimb muscle mass hypertonic and hypertrophic compared to
left.Hip extension limited bilaterally.
Plan
o
Strengthening exercises and stability work to re-establish correct weight
bearing and muscle mass over the left hindlimb.
The following exercises are suitable for every day
