Paddy/Santos – Exercise Prescription and Notes
01/04/25
Subjective: Santos was booked in following a yard move 1 month prior. Saddle has been
checked and new one purchased which is good now we have additional BCS 4/9. Good foot
balance, shod all round. Currently in full work mainly hacking. Pelvis very tucked and in
flexion, dropped back in thoracic region. Posture is improved from last visit.
Gait: Stiff when initially walked out. Mild but consistent right hindlimb lameness 2/10 –
visible in walk, undertrack right hindlimb and shorter stride length. Reduced flexion
bilaterally of the hindlimbs and reduced protraction and retraction.
On the lunge head and neck held right bend consistently. Canter transition stilted, ears back
and back tense. Still looking unbalanced on the circle and will benefit from balancing work.
Circling, neck bend looks good, foot flight is good, timing is outside usual 4 beat rhythm and
pivoting on hindlimbs.
Main palpation findings: Improved tone in shoulders and over the back, large improvement
on last session. Hindlimb retraction limited bilaterally. Neck lateral flexion resented right
C3-4.
