Saphie
12/03/25
Subjective: Saphie has had some intermittent issues with stiffness when turning and when being
out for longer period of time. Stands square and even on each limb. Wide chest and narrow
hindquarter stance. Conformation slightly downhill with croup high. Stressed and showing some
behavioural signs of discomfort or referred pain. Weight looks good.
Gait: Right pelvic hip drop, left side braced and stiff. Tracks up in walk and trot, Less flexion right
hind-limb. Left hindlimb lands audiably heavier than the right. Tail is straight and limbs track straight
in flight. Turning shows good curvature of the neck and back with good foot placement, timing and
height. Saffie is aware of her feet and can move well – a little stilted left turn.
Palpation – Tension in the neck bilaterally, joints able to flex but musculature is restrictive. Poll
shows tension and is resented being palpated here. Eating shows even use of the jaw and masseter
muscle. Brachiocephalicus muscle showing tension and reactivity right side. Trapezius on the right
side also inflamed and reactive, small granuloma nodules seen this side. Lumbar tension is markedly
reduced from last visit.
