Re: Alfie
5/3/25
Alfie was referred following an injury that was sustained at home and has subsequently been located
to his thoracic spine. He is on metacam and gabapentin and currently has 2 days worth of tablets
remaining. On subjective assessment Alfie is alert and bright, a little slow at rising and is walking
stilted and with a low flight arc. Previous shoulder injury right side from wound, healed well.
Gait: Mild rotation of the right foot and carpal deviation. Able to weightbear on all limbs and no
obvious injuries, heat or swellings. Walks straight and able to turn each way easily.
Palpation – Mild tension over triceps muscles in both forelimbs. Mild pain and spasming over right
side of the back musculature. This settled easily. Painful palpation on thoracic T9-T12 on
mobilisation of the vertebrae. Settled well and range of motion was improved afterwards.
