Dotty – Exercise Prescription and Notes
4/3/25
Subjective: Dotty now has her shoes back on and is ready to step up into more work. Been
on fun rides and is settling better now bit and saddle have been altered. Looks more
developed over her neck and posture is looking more balanced and uphill.
Gait: Straight moving but a little close moving with all limbs. Left hindlimb is externally
rotated (toe out, hock in, stifle out and hip in). Right hip hike and stiffer right hindlimb.
Stilted and extended lower back in walk and lack of gluteal muscle. Marginally more muscle
on the right hindlimb. Trot evens up well. Owner noticed canter is improving, still
occasionally takes the wrong lead in canter.
Main palpation findings Hypertonicity base of the neck more on the right hand side. Bracing
triceps and back with reactive pecs on the right side. Lower back in spasm and into hip
flexors which is limiting pelvic motion. Once loosened the pelvic tilts were done easily with
good range of motion.
