18/02/25
Eric was seen following some reluctance in a riding lesson. He has a preference for his left
shoulder and the rider has a preference to fall slightly right. He is not ridden enough to warrent
saddle changes or inclusion of this to the extend of his back stiffness at present.
Gait assessment showed Eric moved with straightness his left hindlimb showed some mild
lameness and reduced flexion with intermittent tracking up and intermittent shortness of step.
Just had shoes taken off and barefoot currently. Limbs are cool and no heat or swellings seen. Old
splint injury to right hindlimb. On the lunge unbalanced at times with head held to the outside,
broke canter and unbalanced and stiff right hindlimb.
On palpation Eric showed some inflammation on the left shoulder and trapezius, the right hand
side serratus muscle was reactive and his thoracic region was under muscled and had low tone in
this area, high tone was seen in the lumbar region.
