Dino
17/02/25
Dino was seen following owners referral. He has remedial farriery and currently in heart bar and
wedges. 18yr old. Weight is good currently, lack global muscle tone and bulk due to being in low
work. May improve on turnout when weather warms. History of conformational issues and
hindlimb soreness.
Gait assessment showed Dino walked with the left hindlimb laterally placed in walk and moved
with quarters to the left. The right hip was pulled cranially and there was increased stance phase
on the right hindlimb and off-loading of the left hindlimb. In trot the hindlimbs reduced propulsion
and moved narrow. Foot landings were flat and straight, no abnormal shoe wear patterns were
seen
On palpation Dino showed left lumbar trigger points and spasming and right thoracolumbar
trigger points. Range of motion of the forelimbs was good in retraction, protraction was limited
bilaterally mildly and rotation of the left forelimb was limited compared to the right. Hindlimb
retraction was limited bilaterally. Pelvic tilts were good, back lift limited in thoracolumbar region
and withers.
