S: Subjective
Weight and BCS good. 5.5/9. History of mites and of scabs hugely improved – marigold and
cleevers. Head tipping has resolved and moving better under saddle. Lost weight and
looking good. Less head nodding when out and hacking.
O: Objective
Gait Assessment:
Overall straight movement. Bilateral forelimb circumduction mild. Turning maintained a good
rhythm; however, hindlimbs were stilted and reluctant, Delayed hindlimbs on the back up but
attempted well and made good strides. Neck bend appeared good on the turns, softer. Mild left
hind-limb hip drop – improved from last visit.
Palpation:
Neck bend looks much softer and palpates much better . Longissimus lumborum bilaterally has
reactivity and trigger points and fascial adhesions. Mild tension but markedly improved from last
visit. Pelvic motion observed to be good in both flexion and extension, mild cracking on extension.
Left stifle: Mild effusion noted in the middle to lateral patella ligament space, but no heat or pain
upon palpation. Limbs less filled than previously. Much improved hind-limb flexion and picking up.
A: Assessment
Back pain on the left more than the right feels compensatory as range of movement is good. Left
stifle muscles improved since last visit. Flexion of the joints is not an issue as there is no crepitus or
pain signals from Remy. Good hindlimb protraction, hindlimb retraction reduced and slow both
hindlimbs.
