Ella- Physiotherapy Notes

Ella was seen for her follow-up appointment today. Quality food ration given. Her stand posture is
solid and Ella is weight bearing more evenly on all 4 limbs. There is still some audible clicking from
forelimbs and these are still overloading during rising.
Left hindlimb still preferred hindlimb for locomotion and bracing but this is becoming more even
with the right hindlimb. Slight tarsal hyperextension preferred to disengage the quadriceps.
Right hindlimb shown hypertonicity of the gracilis muscle on the medial thigh and decreased
tonicity laterally. Elbow flexion was resented mildly.
Functional tests: Sit posture - able to sit square majority of cases. Rising from the sit
Much improved and slight toe movement on full stand but markedly better. Lie to stand was
Greatly improved. Turning left was good, hindlimb under midline and rhythm good. Turning right
showed big improvement with better weight bearing.
Aim: Improve stability
