Tilly P
24/09/24
Tilly was seen following a recent veterinary visit where she had some
intermittent forelimb lameness, radiographs had not shown anything of
substantial promise for the underlying cause. On paracetamol and metacam.
Initially very nervous and tense. Head and neck movement and mobility was
very good. Tilly is of a good weight and is a fit and healthy dog with good coat
and alertness. Left prescapular musclulature was tense and hypertonic.
Superficial and deep pectoral were restrictive and hypertonic limiting
abduction. Biceps brachii hypertonic but shoulder flexion and elbow extension
did not produce a response. Forelimb protraction was good, shoulder
extension was the only mobility point of note where tension appeared. Mild
fasciculations over teres major. Right elbow initially repeatedly restricted and
mild crepitus in full flexion. Resolved through session. Hindlimbs and back
showed nothing of note.
Gait: Mild head nod noticed intermittently on the left forelimb. More
noticeable when circling. Initially when turning left the olecranon (point of
elbow) was very visible so the shoulder was turning in, the elbow was turning
out and the carpus was turning in. This had improved by the retest at the end.
Sitting: Posture is good, a little nervous today.
