Rory– Exercises and Physio Notes
24/09/24
Rory was seen 24/9/24 for routine physiotherapy. Recent changes involve slight knocking
over styles when out riding – still feels forward and to be using hindlimbs.
Gait: Hip drop right hand side, tuber coxae rotates more on this side. Centre of pelvis moves
symmetrically. Moves slightly narrow with hindlimbs in trot, pelvis is held straighter in trot.
In walk wider position of hindlimbs. Forelimbs are much straighter when in flight and
landing pattern that previously seen. Tracks up. Intermittent toe scuffing right hindlimb and
right forelimb – very mild.
Palpation: Soft through neck both sides, good range of motion and no tension or reactivity
around poll or through brachiocephalic muscle. Well balanced forelimbs, slight reluctance to
retract left forelimb. Small trigger points left hand side lumbar region, moderate trigger
points and tension in comparison on the right hand side. Hindlimb retraction requires some
work to alleviate hip tension on this side. Beginning to lack bulk over stifles, no stifle
effusion or crepitus felt.
