When visited on gait assessment a significant lameness was still present in
the left hindlimb 5/6 with toe touching. He loads cranially and is overloading
onto the right hindlimb.
Sit posture is good and all toes point cranial, when fatigued this slips into a
laterally placed left hindlimb.
Palpation revealed mild reduction in shoulder and elbow movement of both
forelimbs and some spasming and trigger points in the right lumbar region.
Hindlimb joints have full range of motion but instability and mild crepitus is
felt on the left hindlimb. There was no swelling or heat in the hindlimbs.
Global loss of muscle mass over the proximal limbs, especially the left
hindimb where muscle tone and bulk is reduced due to inactivity.
Aim: Improve overall balance, muscle strength and protect the opposing
limbs.
