Bode – Initial Report and Exercises
28/08/24
Bode was seen following cruciate surgery 18 days prior on his left
hindlimb. Veterinary diagnostics suggest right hindlimb also has
cruciate disease and is under increased strain.
Subjective: Good weight and owner aware of good diet and weight
management. Currently doing 10-15 minute walk 2-3x a day which is
suitable to regain muscle mass. Alert and able to locomote.
Objective: Offloading left hindlimb and only toe-touching with left
hindlimb, toes are flat on the right hindlimb suggesting increased
weightbearing. Neck mobility good, forelimb mobility is good, some mild
thickening around digits, good carpal flexion and extension and
elbow/shoulder movement. Mild tension around shoulders from increased
weight. Back palpation showed low muscle mass as moving caudally and
into hindlegs. Scar puckered no heat or swelling. Good ROM both
hindlimbs with full range of motion. Mild crepitus tarsus left hindlimb.
Aim: Improve proprioception, muscle tone and mobility
