Matilda– Exercise Prescription
18/7/24
Matilda was seen 18-7-24 for an initial consultation. Gait assessment showed twisting on landing of both
hindlimbs, the left was more exaggerated and also caused some slipping. Left pelvic drop (left side of the
hips moved down when walking), the right side was more stable. In trot head held left. Long toes and due
shoes, clenches were okay.
Circling left was better that nright, good foot placement and ground clearance, lack of neck and back
movement.
Right side neck braced into shoulder (serratus) and base of neck. Small haematoma base of neck
(ultrasounded) Lumbar tension bilaterally, more so on left side.
Reactive hamstrings. Hypotonicity mid back, needs more abdominal engagement here.
Goals:
Prevent right forelimb toe in and outside landing
Strengthen hindimbs
Mobilise the neck
Stretch shoulders
