Freya- Physiotherapy Notes
16/07/24
Freya was seen on the 16th July for an initial consultation. She is described to be coping well with
current routine of walking and has not displayed signs of toe-dragging or lameness. The lameness
initially reported seems to be intermittent with no obvious causative factors. Vets report indicated
some reduced flexion of the right carpal joint.
On assessment there was a reduced weight bearing capacity of the right forelimb and mild reduction
in carpal flexion on the right. The palpation of the right carpus was resented more than the left. Left
forelimb muscles were massaged and freya enjoyed the releases here. On turning the right turns
were more difficult on weaving but the left baited stretch was restricted.
Spasming on palpation of the thoraco-lumbar junction was seen and associated muscles spasming in
the lumbar longissimus.Decreased weight bearing right hind and slight disengagement of the right
hind when standing. Mild muscle tone lss right hindlimb, muscle bulk the same. Overloaded
shoulders and increased cranial loading
Aim: Improve symmetry of muscle tone, improve carpal range of motion and weight bearing
balance.
