Subjective
History of back pain, lipoma and hip dysplasia. Weight is good and fed on quality food. Flooring is
majority carpet which will be good for paw traction. Walks well when out and about. Maisy has been
wobbly with her back legs when eating and has some back pain.
Objective
Gait is good rhythmical in walk and trot. Limited spinal movement when ambulatory. Right hindlimb
has 10-20% less mass than left hindlimb. More weight bearing on the right. Mild shoulder
restrictions most likely due to front end loading.
Hyperextension tarsal joints and straight hindlimb stature. Lumbar spasming and reactivity on
palpation of lumbar muscles and vertebrae.
Range of motion good in joints, mild crepitus in tarsal joints. Lateral right bend was restricted.
Functional Assessment
Sit to stand shows good ability to push and has minimal need for adjustment. Able to sit square.
Struggled with weave exercise due to unstable hindlimbs but could complete and will improve.
Raised paw exercise was difficult but produced good muscle recruitment.
