Re: Aspen
03/7/24
Aspen was seen following a concern regarding forelimb lameness (mild).
Subjective: Aspen settled well and was very tolerant allowing a full assessment to be carried out.
Eating and drinking well, walking routine is good. No weight concerns. Slippery flooring and fluffy
pads may contribute to slipping or future injury, be aware to keep ontop of the trimming or seek
runners to encourage foot gripping. Some reluctance jumping.
Gait: No obvious limping, mild left forelimb reduced stride length. Lack of propulsion and reduiced
global stride length for a dog of her leg length. Mildly increased weight bearing right forelimb.
Palpation – Left and right latissimus dorsi spasming (mild) – digging muscle
Bilateral lumbar spasming and tension, eliciting reaction and head turn.
Reduced lumbar spinal translation of the joints
Reduced hip extension bilaterally (2/3rds)
Mild left wrist crepitus (v mild)
Even muscle mass
Good sit posture and rising
Quads/asartorius muscle restricted both legs as are hamstrings.
Posible iliopsoas restriction
