Max R - Physiotherapy
30/05/24
Max was seen for an initial consult today. He has an intermittent complaint to his left hind-limb
which shows reduced muscle mass in comparison to the right and reduced muscular tone. Hid range
of motion is good in his left hindlimb albeit on full stifle extension Max gave an audible yelp, this was
not repeatable. The hindlimb retraction was limited 20%, protraction 20%. His right hindlimb was
unstable when forelimbs are elevated and moves laterally. Forelimb motion and range was good,
minor protraction restriction due to lat.dorsi tension. Mid thoracic into lumbar region showed
trigger points and spasming. No neurological concerns with hindlimbs or forelimbs at present. In
walk Max circumducts the left hindlimb showing reduced flexion. On turning the right turn was
stilted and right hindlimb had difficulty stepping to the midline. Sit posture good 90% of the time.
Points of note
Manage back pain
Increase hindlimb stability
Reduce wide stance gait in hindlimb.
